Kynaston Lodge
The rear of The Lodge today.
Kynaston Lodge is situated in beautiful, pastoral Herefordshire. In a quiet location near many quaint villages, it is close to the market towns of Ross on Wye. Monmouth lies to the south and south west. To the north lies the cathedral city of Hereford.
I understand The Lodge was built in 1816, and was part of Kynaston House estate. The main house has not survived and was demolished in 1928 leaving The Lodge, which is a very attractive house in its own righ, set in some of the original parkland together with the remnants of the kitchen gardens and some 9 acres of land.
From 1895, William Tough was working for Capt. Crichton Brown who lived at Kynaston Manor. William and his family (Annie, Margaret, Lillian and Hilda) lived at Kyneston Lodge.
