Numbers 42 and 43 Penkridge Cottages

The two cottages known as Penkeridge cottages No 42 and 43 Buildwas, although they are on the Sheinton to Much Wenlock Road, both cottages were bought in the 1928 sale by the Rowlands family and were later sold 42 to Mr Carder. Number 43 they kept for their own use; number 42 was bought to be used as a farm cottage to Seven Springs Farm. When it was no longer needed by the farm it was sold.

A few years later (July 1991) number 43 was sold and the two houses were knocked into one.

When the building work was taking place, they fitted a new fibre glass septic tank. They dug the hole, placed in the tank inside and back filled with cement (always fill the tank with water the instructions say). The next morning, the tank was floating half in and half out of the concrete. A new tank was needed as breaking the concrete damaged the original.
